All-Star coaches name Evan Troy the first player to the 2010 team!

Also on the same day as Katie's baptism, the family birthday party and Alexis' soccer match was Evan's last baseball game and all-star induction ceremony. It wasn't a surprise that he was chosen, but it's always fun to see them take the mound as a new team from all different other teams. JD is going to be the assistant coach for the all-star team too. Fun summer times!

Alexis made one of the Timberbaron tournament soccer teams she tried out for this spring. Much stress and tribulation! Their first tournament was in town and on the same day as Katie's baptism and the family birthday party. Since we were all there already, we headed down to watch her afternoon game. She scored a goal and the team won! How much better does it have to get?!

Katie's baptism was the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate our spring birthdays at one time since all our family was here. Derek (March 1st), Katie (May 17th) and Evan (May 26th) and enjoyed receiving presents and celebrations for everyone. So nice when both sides of the family can get together. When the party was over we headed to the kids' event (Evan's baseball game and Alexis' first tourney soccer match).

On June 5th, 2010, Katie was baptized into Jesus Christ's church! We are so proud of her and what a wonderful little girl she is. Her great example to all of us of patience and sweetness is what we admire most about her. She shared her special day with her friend, Hailey, who is in her Primary class. Oma spoke, I was the chorister and Opa gave the closing prayer. JD was able to baptize her and all the family came down to watch. Her cousin, Dart, also was able to be a witness for her baptism and that was special too. We sure love that little Katie Bug of ours.

Ahhh. All good things must come to an end. We have LOVED our time at Western Youth Baseball for the last ten years which started with 6 year old Derek and T-Ball. This year was Evan's last year of Little League. JD has coached him the last few years. The team took third (again) in the league this year. Evan will continue playing in the Babe Ruth league next year, but there is something so great about being out at Western. Not sure if it's the famous Western Burger (homemade burger with bacon, the works and a special sauce) or just being down there all day on Saturday. Such good family memories of when all four kids played. The girls kind of pooped out on baseball to focus on soccer, so Evan was our last excuse to hang out at the ball field just watching kids enjoy the game. We'll miss you, Western. Now on to All-Star summer baseball!

A few days before school let out for the summer is the annual 2nd graders trip to the Oregon Zoo. I have gone with every kid and wouldn't miss going with #4 for anything. Katie thoroughly enjoyed herself and so did I. Didn't hurt that the weather was AWESOME. How I miss her wonderful teacher, Miss P. One in a million girl...

Getting back into this

Okay, I've had enough time away from the family blog. SO many cool things have happened and are happening to this crazy family that I let the craziness get away from me! I'm officially going to begin where we left off....
