 Hey yall!

Another week in the NOM!

Nothing too crazy happened this week unfortunately. We did have exchanges! Learned lots and had some fun too! This exchange was extra cool though because the other sister I exchanged with had served in my area before! All the people we met with that day were super excited to see her again so there was a few sweet reunions.

You might have seen on my Facebook that my companion and I were hosting an Easter bible study! We were so sad when only one random person showed up, but it ended up being someone we were teaching! At the end of the lesson she asked when Easter Sunday was. We told her in a few weeks and she said she thought that would give her enough time to prep to go to church in-person. This comes after her telling us she would NEVER be able to go in person. We were excited to say the least!

On Saturday we got to do service for a member in the ward which was awesome. We helped clear out a tree and rake leaves before they move out of their house! We were fortunate enough to have been taught by their 4 year old how to rake leaves. I don't know what we would have done without him. Thanks Brooks!!

This Sunday was also Stake Conference! We had a friend text us 20 minutes before it started saying they would be there. We were so excited to meet him- we'd never met him before!

Here's a scripture I've been thinking of this week: "For behold, are we not all beggars? Do we not all depend upon the same Being, even God, for all the substance which we have, for both food and raiment, and for gold, and for silver, and for all the riches which we have of every kind?" Mosiah 4:19

Sorry for the LAME email this week but we gotta have those meh weeks to make the great weeks great ;)

Full moon last night?

 Hey yall!

Man do you grow to love Mondays when you are on the mission. How have you all been? I'd love to hear from you!

On Wednesday I got my new companion! Sister Christensen is a queen and a gem. She is brand new to the mission but is a natural born teacher and has an amazing desire to serve. A little homesick maybe, but she's ready to serve!

Some of you may remember Marcus, a friend I mentioned a while back. We met on Facebook and he is a member of the Trinity (Lutheran) church and sits on their council! We had the opportunity to give him a church tour and this week he returned the favor. Our mission president and his wife joined us for the tour and it was lovely. It was so interesting to see the similarities and differences between churches. We all share a love of Jesus Christ!

We ate some interesting food this week but nowhere near as bad as the worst I've had. Please... no more chili. Midwesterners sure are generous, to a fault at times! I have felt so blessed to be surrounded by so many faithful and kind people. The Midwest is a special place that is rich with religious history.

We've been teaching a lady who says she sees ghosts. Not my favorite vibe but she is so interested in learning about the book of Mormon. She reads it every day and tells us how much she relates to it. The Gospel is for everyone!

We met with some members yesterday and had them share their testimonies of the restoration (the restoration of the church of Jesus Christ through Joseph Smith). One man, a convert to the church shared his story and said 2 Nephi 9 changed his heart. I read and and this verse stood out to me. Give it a read!

"And whoso knocketh, to him will he open; and the wise, and the learned, and they that are rich, who are puffed up because of their learning, and their wisdom, and their riches—yea, they are they whom he despiseth; and save they shall cast these things away, and consider themselves fools before God, and come down in the depths of humility, he will not open unto them." 2 Nephi 9:42

Oh ya, and to explain the subject line. We are currently teaching a man we met from a random text message. He recently suffered a stroke so he's been fighting that. Yesterday we delivered a book of Mormon and a Bible to him so he could get reading. Because of his stroke, he's lost feeling/control of half his body. Basicallyyyy he couldn't tell but his pants were not pulled up all the way. My companion and I had a good laugh when we got to the car! Hopefully you all had a good chuckle too.

Jesus loves you!

Don't ask questions--have faith!

 Hey yall!

Crazy week, this one! This week is transfers so all the missionaries are getting shuffled around. I found out my two companions are leaving and I am staying! One is going to Lincoln, the other to Omaha and I'll be here training.

One of our favorite member families moved this week so we have been helping them pack up the last few weeks. We also have been meeting with this sweet older lady and her massive chihuahua (see pic for reference).

One of our friends recently came back from a 3 month long trip to France and Africa. She is amazing and we are looking forward to bringing her a French Book of Mormon.

Susan and Todd (the plant people) are progressing quickly now! They said the Book of Mormon is the first religious thing they've ever agreed about. We are so proud of them and all the work they've put in to show the Lord what this gospel means to them. They've shared answered prayers with us and the miracles they've seen since studying the BOM.

Here in Papillion there is a place called the Cheese Haus and we have been DYING to go look at it but it is closed on p-day, Monday. But this week we got to go!! It was pretty pricey since it was all like fancy stuff but worth it. High key the best cheese I've ever had so ya.

Today for pday we got to go explore Omaha and do all the fun Nebraska things.

Jesus loves you!

Hype Milagros

 Hey y'all!

Another week in the Midwest paradise. Both 80⁰ and 20⁰ with snow in the same week. It's never a boring day!!

This week we spent a considerable amount of time with a family of investigators making dinner! He taught us how to make Midwest meatloaf which apparently includes cornbread and bbq sauce? I don't know but it was fire. They are doing awesome reading from the Book of Mormon and their faith grows every day.

We had about a 3 week long drought of finding new people to teach. This week, we found 3! That is the hype milagro ("milagro" means "miracle" in Spanish) if you are wondering. Our friends Becca and Yasir are way awesome. Becca is a famous body builder and both are faithful people. So cool. The third us Jorge!! We found Jorge in the stairwell of his apartment waiting for his laundry. He recently just got back into reading the Bible and is looking for the right church for him. The day after we met him we asked when we could come back and teach him more, he said "right now!" So we sprinted out the door and taught him for an hour! Super exciting and we're eager to see how far he grows.

In other news: we spent an hour scooping poop for a service project, spent an hour looking for a lost dog, I made tater tot casserole, and that's about all you need to know. Being a missionary is the best!! We get to talk to people about God and tell them Jesus loves them all day every day. Life is weird, but in a good way.

To explain the sticky ball thing!! There are elders that live right below us in our apartment. They found this sticky ball that sticks to ceilings and walls and we are currently in a war of passing it to each other. Missionaries find the darndest ways to entertain themselves lol. The picture below shows one of our attempts!

Also: sorry if the emails are a bit short, but I think I don't believe in long emails?? Haha!

Jesus loves you!
