loco week!!

Hey yall! Super super short email today!

This week has been absolutely crazy. We have three baptisms this weekend and we're doing everything for those! Interviews, lessons, programs, the whole nine yards.

Still figuring out the area and how to get from a to b without spending a ton of money on gas but it just isn't possible! I'm sure all of you out there are experiencing the same thing.

Today for pday we played some chair soccer and other games as a district! Sister Miller and I drove for like 2/10 hours of our pday but that's ok!! Just one of those crazy weeks where the days are long and the weeks are fast.

I'm so thankful for my mission and all that I've learned from it so far. My testimony of the gospel has grown leaps and bounds and I know "that which he shares he keeps". Please find an opportunity to share your testimony in even just a small way this week.

Jesus loves you!!

Poison Ivy and Princesses

 Hey yall!

Happy to report I have not yet had heatstroke 🥳 it's been 100⁰ for just about the last two weeks straight. And humid! It's honestly not as bad as I thought it would be. We're in and out of the car most of the time but when lessons are outside it is KILLER.

This week we joined the young women for their activity. We got to watch them make Dutch oven desserts and help them with the service project. We didn't know what to expect for the activity so we helped weed someone's yard in our dresses haha!

My companion did some other weeding in her last area where she came in contact with some poison ivy. And apparently she's allergic! So we spent quite some time in the doctors office getting that figured out. She's healing now which is good but her arms are just covered up and Down with painful itchy rashes. Poor sister Miller is going through it :,(

Friday we had a lesson with a recent convert in the morning. She lives on a farm so when we were done we got to go see the animals and meet the brand new kittens and puppy. So cute!!

We also had a lesson with our friend Luis and his kids joined in. We had the lesson outside so it was super hot but we kept the kids entertained with my princess finger puppets and play dough. Works like a charm.

We started teaching three new people this week and we now have three more people on date to be baptized. Exciting times in the Logan, Iowa area!

Today for zone pday we got together for a zone breakfast and played some games. It's good to be back in the Council Bluffs zone! The Lord is working miracles here in the NOM. It's crazy how much you see if you look for it. A concept! I have loved being a missionary thus far. The feeling of bringing souls unto Chris is incomparable. I love the Savior with my whole heart and I pray my efforts reflect that.

1 Peter 5:8 says: "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"
One of the most wonderful things about the gospel of Jesus Christ that we already know which team wins. God's team beats the adversary's team every time. So why are we still choosing which jersey to wear?

Cornfields and Chaos

 Hey yall!

Howdy from some corn fields in Iowa! Last week were transfers and I got sent to the Logan Iowa area. I'm back in the same zone as my first transfer! So far the members of the ward and each of the people we're teaching are super nice.

Wednesday we met up at the mission office to find out where we were going and with who. My new companion is Sister Miller and both of us are new to the Logan area so we are "white washing" the area, basically starting over.

Our area is probably 15 times as large as my last area. Point to point my last area was 4 miles, this one is about 65. Scattered throughout are a bunch of tiny little towns with no more than a couple thousand people. EVERYWHERE there is corn. So much corn. And it's actually so pretty! Lots of rolling hills as far as the eye can see. I LOVE this area so far.

The main event this week: we drove down to Papillion to attend a devotional with Gary E. Stevenson, of the quorum of the 12 apostles. Crazy stuff! The whole mission gathered for the first time in over a year to attend this devotional. It was an amazing experience and the spirit was strong. We learned a lot! It was funny to be back in my old area just a couple days after leaving, but so fun to see all my old companions and friends!

Not a whole lot to tell about the area so far but we're working hard and figuring it out as we go haha!

Have a great week yall and remember

the end of an era

 Hey yall!

Great week in the Nebraska Omaha Mission!

This week we had our last lesson with Dave and his wife. SO sad but very grateful that I got to witness part of his journey. Asked him if he wanted to be taught, taught him, he was baptized, and now he is a wonderful and contributing member of our ward. Their family has been such a blessing to us missionaries and we've learned so much from them. I hope to be as dedicated members as them!

Our friend Angelica invited us out to eat AGAIN. This time, at a legendary place. It's called Stella's and has been open for almost 100 years. Warren Buffett lives in Omaha and apparently Stella's is one of his favorite spots. Unfortunately there were no celebrity spottings that night but it was good food!

Saturday we had the opportunity to teach a little bit at a stake youth activity. We shared some tips and tricks on studying the scriptures. The catch was that we had to do it in less than 10 minutes! The youth were great though and hopefully they had something to take home with them and test it out. This stake has some crazy awesome young(-er than me) people.

This week was a long one, I won't lie. Since it is transfer week we worked Monday to Tuesday instead of Monday to Monday. That extra day is killer haha! Miracle Monday is magical though. Yesterday we were able to have a wonderful lesson with our inactive friend, Jason and committed him to join us at church Sunday. He's a great guy and I know the Lord will bless him for coming!

My time in the Papillion area has come to an end. I finished my training and trained another missionary here in Papillion so it holds a special place in my heart. The city reminds me a lot of my hometown in more ways than one! I'm super excited to dive in to another area and get to work.

"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." Alma 26:12
