jack skellington

 Hey yall!

This week Council Bluffs has been overrun with Jack skellington Halloween decorations. It's a huge problem. He. Is. Everywhere.

This week we had a few lovely member lessons! One in particular was Marilyn, an older lady we visit every so often. She's hard of hearing but oh so sweet and just adores the gospel. And we just adore her!

This week we were able to find eight new people to teach- a personal record! Haha just kidding all of them were in the Lord's hands and most were huge miracles. One of us would get a prompting to go visit a friend and we'd find more people to teach near that friend! It was an amazing miracle filled week.

Thursday was exchanges per usual! I got to go with a new spanish missionary for her first exchange. She's pretty green but super smart and knows what she's doing already. She's got the greenie fire! It was fun because she's actually from Spokane, WA and played club soccer all through high school so the odds that we played each other is pretty high! We were able to test her and I's (equally rough) spanish and find some people for them to teach!

Our friend Broc is just so solid. He's super committed and excited for his baptism on November 5th! Please pray for Broc and Sean as Sean's baptism is this weekend.

"And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever. Amen." Ether 12:41

fall!!!!

 Hey yall!

Ok but actually fall has come in the Midwest. Woke up to a crisp 20⁰ this morning and sweater weather has arrived!

I've got a hot 7 minutes to write this email but I love yall no less! Some key updates: our friend Broc is on date for baptism! We're so pumped for him and excited to continue teaching him.

We found a few new people to teach this week which is always fun too. We talked to one guy named Edward who was interesting. We asked hey how are you doing and the poor guy started crying right then and there. Apparently he and his girlfriend had just broken up and he needed some prayers.

Huge miracle we saw this week was from one of our ward members! A couple months ago we invited her to share a book of Mormon with her coworker that had her testimony in it. She wanted to wait until her friend was ready so she decided to write her testimony and give it back to us until her coworker was ready. That day she wrote her testimony in the book her coworker asked for a book of Mormon! Miracles still happen- every day!

Two Fine Mormons

 Hey yall!

Another blessed week in the promised land (council bluffs). This week we had great success all thanks to the Lord and His great work. Seriously though, nothing brings greater joy then teaching people about Jesus Christ!

One of the people found is Seth's friend Broc! I met Seth in January and he was baptized soon after in March. His friend Broc said he's ready to join the church after about 10 years of going in and out. We're so excited to answer all of his many questions and help him feel the Spirit.

On Wednesday we went to activity days and decorated some wonderful cupcakes (pictures provided). Those girls have so much energy I almost felt old. I'm still having nightmares about how many sprinkles those girls put on those innocent cupcakes. Nightmares. Just kidding haha Sister Arnold and my cupcakes are slightly scarier. One more than the other... which is which?

Friday was MLC! We set some big goals and got to discuss how we as missionaries can improve. I'm excited to put forth my best effort to reach those goals. The Nebraska Omaha Mission truly has some of the finest missionaries in the world.

Which was so kindly recognized by some men we met on the street a few days ago! Don't worry they were (mostly) harmless but that's where the title comes from ;) haha every now and again we'll find people like that but they're pretty few and far between.

Today for pday we went and played marbles with Harold! Harold is the nice older man who makes us pie all the time. Today he made us vanilla cream with Bananas! Also in case you were wondering Harold is absolutely NASTY at marbles. How is that even possible? I don't know but Sister Arnold beat him once and I never got that good.

Spiritual thought of the week comes from Joseph Smith History as he recounts his feelings following the first vision. "who am I that I can withstand God, or why does the world think to make me deny what I have actually seen? For I had seen a vision; I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dared I do it;" JSH 1:25 (a portion). If God loves us enough to answer the humble prayer of a 14 year old farm boy, why not yours?

3 Wheels and a Donut

 Hey yall!

Today is Tuesday, must be transfer week! Sister Arnold and I are both staying in CB. This makes 3 for me in CB and 4 for her. 3 transfers as companions though! Longest I've ever kept a companion 👀

This week was a doozy. We had general conference and I think I can speak for all the missionaries everywhere in saying we are TIRED. General conference is such an amazing opportunity for people checking out the church to see what we're all about and feel the Spirit.

As a zone we ended up getting 109 people to watch general conference. Crazy stuff because with regular church we get maybe half that. We did lots of reminding and sending links to watch and and and. So worth it though. If you don't know what general conference is its where we hear from the living prophet and apostles as well as other leaders within the church. Good stuff and lots of Jesus.

We also found 6 new people to teach so that was good. My companion and I help run ads on our missions Facebook page and we got to shoot for that on Tuesday. We had 2 exchanges this week and for one I got to go into the Spanish area! I'm still trying to learn Spanish so it was good immersion therapy haha.

Per the title we also got a flat tire. Had to drive on the donut for a few days before the tire shop could get us in. Dad I hope you'd be proud of me I totally changed the tire. We also had some fire lessons this week about the plan of salvation. If you wanna know what that's all about let me know. That's about it!
