Hey yall! 

This week our friend Dan (aka danny) has been progressing like crazy and we're so happy for him. He referred himself once and we lost contact for a couple of days after the first lesson but then he referred himself AGAIN. Since then we've had a couple more lessons, he came to church, and is planning on getting baptized on April 8th. Pray for him! 

This week we had interviews with President Bailey. I got to discuss some issues our area has been having and how we can turn it around. I'm grateful that the Lord's church is orderly and I can feel confident that President Bailey is inspired of the Lord. "Behold, mine house is a house of order, saith the Lord God, and not a house of confusion." Doctrine and Covenants 132:8

We also got to drive up to Omaha for Trainer-trainee! It was 5 hours of driving round trip but it was so nice. And I got to see my beloved sister Mickelson :,) it was bitter sweet. We stayed with the council bluffs sisters (my previous area) the night before the meeting so it was super fun. 

The Lord has blessed us a lot recently in finding new people to teach and especially finding people that are ready to receive the restored gospel like Dan. This week we were able to find 8 people and all of our recently converted members came to church which was so awesome. 

In just 2 weeks we have general conference where the whole world listens in on a broadcast from the prophet, 12 apostles and other church leaders to hear messages straight from God. It's April 1-2 and there's 10 hours of conference total so there's lots of opportunities to catch it! Here's a link to read more about it:

harvest mentality

 Hey yall! 

This week we had zone conference! Our mission president came down from Omaha here to Grand Island for the conference. It was about 8 hours long but we got to learn lots! President Bailey said that we have to have harvest mentality if we want to reap the people God has prepared for us to teach. I also read this scripture about it this week! 

"And it came to pass when they had arrived in the borders of the land of the Lamanites, that they separated themselves and departed one from another, trusting in the Lord that they should meet again at the close of their harvest; for they supposed that great was the work which they had undertaken." Alma 17:13 

In that scripture there is a group of friends that split up to go do missionary work. This really is a great work and much like those missionaries I look forward to sharing the experiences I've had and miracles I've witnessed with each of you.

Also at each zone conference president Bailey chooses two people to give 5 minute talks on the study material for that particular conference. Many people go their whole missions without having to speak. At this zone conference I spoke for the 3rd time lol! At this point I just wing it and let the Spirit guide (practicing my teaching skills). 

We also had exchanges pt. 2 this week since the Lincoln sisters came into town for zone conference. This time I was with Sister King and Sister Arens! We got a lot done but one of the highlights was meeting a less-active member for dinner. She was from Samoa and so fun to get to know her and hear her stories about her spiritual journey! 

On Saturday we did some service for a member of the congregation and I got to do dishes for an hour straight 😎 honestly it was loads of fun and we were so excited to help out the family!! 

Sunday was honestly Supa crazy but it was funnnnn. Very busy. Our friends Paul and Josh came to church so it was fun showing them around and letting them feel the Spirit there.  Hey yall! 

Before you think I've gone off the deep end let me explain that title! On Sunday night we were passing the dairy queen and saw a bunch of people outside enjoying their ice cream. So naturally as missionaries we got out and talked go them. Turned out they were a bunch of bikers who love Jesus! They had just got out of a convention for bikers and a day full of helping people find Jesus. So awesome!! Their group name is " The Hell-Fighters". 

This week we found like 10 new people to teach which is awesome but had to stop teaching a few people that we were helping towards baptism. It's so hard to do that especially when they are interested but if they don't keep commitments we don't have a choice. We'll be keeping in close contact with them though and I know they'll be ready to make that promise with God some day. 

We also got to go out to the boonies which was such a nice reminder of the good old days out in Logan. Was saw  llamas and various animals we spotted haha. 

This week I also got word that one of the people I taught in my second area is getting endowed and sealed!! I got invited to go and it just so happened they are having it 2 days after I finish my mission. So I'm gonna stay!! I'm super excited for Dave and Sarah and am so honored to be invited and to have been a part of their story. They've changed mine so much! 

Here's some verses I read this week from one of my favorite chapters in the book of Mormon: 

"26 And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?  

27 Have ye walked, keeping yourselves blameless before God? Could ye say, if ye were called to die at this time, within yourselves, that ye have been sufficiently humble? That your garments have been cleansed and made white through the blood of Christ, who will come to redeem his people from their sins? 

28 Behold, are ye stripped of pride? I say unto you, if ye are not ye are not prepared to meet God. Behold ye must prepare quickly; for the kingdom of heaven is soon at hand, and such an one hath not eternal life."

 Hey yall! 

This week was pretty uneventful. We did have exchanges with the Lincoln sisters this week though! Sister Jensen and I went with Sister King. It's about an hour and a half drive to Lincoln from our area so we stayed for two nights. 

There's a ton of geese here in grand island for whatever reason but all the birds are migrating for spring or whatever. So. Many. Birds. I think we even saw seagulls! 

Yesterday at church we had 4 friends come to church (not including the 2 that never made it out of the parking lot because their child wasn't cooperating that day 😅). The grand island congregation is so unique. I love it! There used to be a Spanish branch here but it got combined with the English ward. So everything is half English, half Spanish. The community here is so amazing! 

Today for pday we got to check out some cute boutiques and coffee shops in the downtown area. Of course we also had to play some basketball and spikeball too. 

Here's a verse I read from the Book of Mormon this week: "Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth?" 2 nephi 29:7. God loves all His children and the Book of Mormon is a testament of that.
